The state honored two projects on Tuesday for outstanding historic preservation with  a governor's award. One of those projects is in Jackson, the other is at Michigan State University.

LC Consultants, Concept Design Studio, Wolverine Building Group and  Kildorf Preservation were among the honorees for the rehabilitation of the Peoples National Bank building in Jackson.

Michigan State University's campus archeology program also took home an award.

The state says the groups were honored for their commitment to Michigan's unique character and providing cultural resources to document our past.
