Threat of Freezing Rain and Ice Saturday

Posted
and last updated

LANSING, Mich. — Rain showers are expected tonight with temperatures dropping through the 40s. By daybreak we'll be on average near 40 degrees. Saturday rain showers are expected, but with this unique set-up, it's likely that this rain will freeze in the lowest levels of the atmosphere. So ice accumulation is looking likely. That combined with gusty winds later in the day means power outages are a very real possibility. Along with that, travel conditions are expected to be very slow across mid-Michigan. Temperatures on Saturday will be in the 30s most of the day, however the high for the day will be in the middle to upper 40s early in the morning. Sunday a few flakes may fly before daybreak, but most of the day should be fairly quiet but windy. Highs will be in the upper 20s.
