In the most appropriate place, Norah Jones paid tribute to fallen Seattle Rocker Chris Cornell during her live performance last night at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.
That’s the last place Cornell, 52, sang on May 17 before apparently taking his own life inside a Detroit hotel room. Cornell was the lead singer for Soundgarden and Audioslave.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner ruled Cornell’s death a suicide, but his wife and attorney havedisputed that and want to see the toxicology reports.
Jones was greeted by a standing ovation after she sang one of Cornell’s most famous songs, “Black Hole Sun,” while playing the piano.
