United Autoworkers Union locals will begin voting Monday on a tentative agreement with Ford.

Members of the UAW National Ford Council approved the four-year deal on Friday.

Ford has 55,000 hourly workers in the US, more than the 46,000 who went on strike against GM for 40 days. There was no work stoppage at Ford.

The proposed contract includes a $9,000 signing bonus. There are also pay increases and a pathway for temporary workers to get full-time status. However, the contract also includes that Ford will close its engine factory in Romeo. Six hundred union workers at the plant will be offered buyouts or jobs at a transmission factory in Sterling Heights.

All of the votes are due by Nov. 15.
