Two students at Chandler Park Academy Middle School in Harper Woods were arrested for threats made to the school on March 19.
The threats were distributed via Snapchat and specifically stated that those in the school would be shot on March 20.
On Thursday, Harper Woods police arrested the students responsible for making the threats. The students reside in Detroit.
Both were charged with making a terrorist threat, which holds a penalty of imprisonment up to 20 years and a fine of up to $20,000.
The Harper Woods Police Department says it maintains a zero tolerance policy on these types of incidents and will continue to investigate all threats of this nature.
Police ask parents to speak with their children about the gravity of this type of behavior and the consequences associated with making any type of threat against others.
