When you think station wagon… The infamous Griswald wagon probably comes to mind, right?
Well, forget about that because the wagons are back and these companies are giving the classic cars a hipster twist that won’t break the bank.
1. Volvo V60
This wagon starts at 32K and is one of the safety picks of 2017. It’s got a turbocharged engine that’s equivalent to eight-cylinder powerhouses. From the moment you step into the V60, you’ll experience a new kind of luxury. The meticulously crafted interior draws your attention to details such as soft leather comfort seats, a state-of-the-art infotainment system and great load-carrying capabilities.
2. Volkswagen Golf SportWagen
This “wagen” starts at 21K and has a standard 170-hp turbocharged engine and can get 35 mpg. With a 60/40-split folding rear seat, it offers the cargo space of an SUV while still having the enviable maneuverability of a car.
3. Subaru Outback
The Outback is a survivor! It’s been one of the ONLY wagons you’d still see on the road. Starting at 25K, the Subaru Outback supplies 35.5 cubic-feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 73.3 cubic-feet with the rear seat folded down. Those numbers reflect practical if not quite generous amounts of volume.
