It was a celebration like no other. Organizers say Aretha Franklin's life was grand, and so will be her send off at Greater Grace Temple Detroit's west side.
A former president, and some of the best vocalists in the business from gospel to pop will be in attendance. And it's all being produced by the same man who did Whitney Houston's funeral.
He says to expect to cry a little, laugh a little and feel the spirit of the Queen of Soul.
Organizers say the artists were picked by Aretha's family to showcase artists she liked and listened to – her peers.
Those performers include Faith Hill, Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan, Ariana Grande and many more.
"Everyone wants to honor the queen, so everybody wants to sing on the services," said Ceremony Producer Curtis Farrow. "Everyone wants to speak on the services, everyone wants to do a poem. Were talking about some super duper well known names."
