Things are about to get cooking at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.
Lisa Gass, a spokeswoman for DTW, announced Friday that four new restaurants are now open in the North Terminal. They are Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, Brioche Dorée, Chick-fil-A and Detroit’s very own Anita’s Kitchen.
Pei Wei and Brioche Dorée opened shortly before Christmas. Chick-fil-A opened in January and Anita’s Kitchen opened earlier this month.
“We are so excited that our multimillion-dollar dining redevelopment plan is nearing completion,” Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton said. “During the development of this project, we wanted to ensure DTW was offering dining options tailored to meet all of our customer’s dietary needs. Based on the feedback we’ve received, I’m confident this was accomplished.”
The restaurants are the penultimate phase of a $21 million dining redevelopment plan at the airport, including several metro Detroit favorites.
“Anita’s Kitchen is thrilled to join the dynamic group of restaurants servicing travelers in Detroit Metro’s North Terminal,” Anita’s Kitchen proprietor Jen Farah Wegrzyn said. “Working together with global restaurateur HMSHost, we look forward to introducing the cherished Lebanese dishes by which Anita’s Kitchen has come to be known, and to a much larger international audience.”
The final phase of the dining redevelopment plan, which includes Outback Steakhouse and Jolly Pumpkin, is expected to be completed in the spring.
