Police found $136,000, 17 long guns, 8 handguns almost 500 hundred marijuana plants and mason jars full of hallucinogenic mushroom spores during raids in Jackson, Hillsdale, and Lenawee counties. Police said this just part of what's out there.
"There's a lot of illegal activity when it comes to marijuana even though people are operating under the guidelines of medical or medicine, there's people like this who in my opinion who have no interest in the medicine part of it. It's for profit," Brian Balhau with the State Police said.
There were 10 search warrants given in Somerset, Liberty, Spring Arbor, and Woodstock Townships.
Balhau said it's easier to conduct illegal activity in the rural areas.
"What they do is set up in different locations to throw law enforcement off in the operation,"he said.
Police said they've identified 15 suspects so far,and no arrest have been made. They are working with the Attorney General's office to conduct interviews for the investigation.
