A Richmond, Michigan woman has been charged with making false terroristic threats, use of computer to commit a felony, malicious use of a telephone, and unlawful posting of messages through electronic medium.

The Livingston Co. Sheriff's Office say they responded to threats made on social media that involved the Village Elementary School in Hartland Township. Investigation revealed that the suspect was threatening a family from the school through Facebook messenger and text.

The threats included a threat of shooting up the school, and burning down the families house.

Detectives say Karen Lockwood made fake social media accounts, email accounts, and used internet based phone numbers to threaten the family. They say she had no way of carrying out those threats.

Lockwood is in custody.
