Opening arguments will start Thursday around 8:30 a.m. for the trial of William Strampel.
Strampel is the former Dean of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University charged wit sexual assault and misconduct in office. He was also Larry Nassar's former boss.
A jury for the trial has been selected.
Jury selection began Tuesday as potential jurors were asked questions regarding how much they knew about the high profile Larry Nassar case and whether or not they've formed opinions about Strampel's innocence. Potential jurors were sent home after filling out the questionnaire.
The state originally charged Strampel with a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
However in April, the Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Joyce Draganchuk agreed with prosecutors and allowed them to add a count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct against Strampel.
Michigan's attorney general's office came into Strampel's April 12 hearing wanting to add this count, punishable with up to 15 years in prison, but the judge instructed prosecutors to file this new information properly.
In a second motion by prosecutors, they hoped to admit additional evidence against Strampel, which included five photos of scantily clad women found on Strampel's work computer and a video depicting Larry Nassar with a patient in his office.
The judge decided the photos could be used as evidence by the state, but she sided with the defense and rejected the inclusion of the video.
