Trial date set for ex-MSU football player accused of sex crime

Posted

Former MSU football player Auston Robertson will go to trial on criminal sexual conduct charges.

He is accused of raping a girl after a party April 8. Robertson's accuser testified during a preliminary hearing Thursday that she verbally and physically tried to get Robertson to stop.

A second count of Criminal Sexual Conduct was added to his first charge, in light of what took place during the alleged incident.

Robertson's attorneys asked to get his tether removed, because he has the opportunity to start classes and play football at a junior college in Mississippi. That was denied by the judge.

Robertson is due back in court on July 5.
