LANSING, Mich. — We have a major traffic alert for many who travel on I-96.
Michigan's Department of Transportation is closing both lanes of a long stretch of the interstate the weekend of April 26 - 28.
The stretch of I-96 that runs through Eagle and Portland will be completely closed from Friday night through Sunday morning.
Michigan DOT is removing the Cutler Road overpass bridge during the closure.
The official detour will be M-66 South to M-43 through Grand Ledge and Delta Township.
