Strong winds causing power outages across Mid-Michigan

MID-MICHIGAN (WSYM) - Strong winds and heavy rains are to blame for power outages being reported across Mid-Michigan.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday first responders began answering calls of power lines down, transformer fires and trees down over roads.

Consumers Energy reports 3,851 customers are without power in Ingham County as of 11:00 p.m.

1,016 Consumers Energy customers are without power in Jackson County.

In Livingston County, 2,315 Consumers Energy customers are without power.

Do not touch a downed line with your hand or an object like a stick, broom or pole.

Call 911 immediately to report a downed power line or transformer fire.
