Springport Public Schools will be open and on time Tuesday morning, following Monday morning's cancellation.
Michigan State Police tell us that their investigation continues and no arrest has been made so far.

Classes at all Springport Schools are cancelled Monday while police search for a man they believe is armed with a gun.
Superintendent Randy Cook tells us the man is wanted in an unrelated incident in Springport, but since he is still at-large Cook did not want students in harms way.
"I didn't want kids walking or brought into school with that situation going on," Cook said.
Cook says he was notified by police at 6:50 a.m. Monday and he immediately activated the school's emergency lockdown plan. Parents received calls letting them know classes were canceled. Cook says only a handful of students were at school at the time, they stayed in lockdown until parents could pick them up. Buses were rerouted to take students home and students who couldn't be taken home were brought to Western High School until their parents could pick them up.
Michigan State Police and Springport Police are investigating the incident as a possible assault involving a weapon. State Police say that they know suspect is no longer in the area, but could not be more specific at the time. Their investigation continues.
