LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) — A report issued Friday by the special prosecutor investigating Michigan State University's handling of sexual abuse complaints against Larry Nassar says there is no evidence that former Athletic Director George Perles covered up a 1992 rape.

In a Lawsuit filed in September, Erika Davis claims she was drugged and raped by Nassar in 1992 when she was 17 years old. Davis says she was a freshman field hockey player at the time. The lawsuit says Perles intervened and confiscated video of the alleged assault and forced the field hockey coach, Martha Ludwig, to resign and sign a non-disclosure agreement. Davis also alleges that she went to the MSU Police Department to report the assault, but a sergeant told her to drop the complaint.

But according to Special Investigator Forsyth, there is no credible evidence to support the claims. "In fact, we found substantial evidence contradicting her claims concerning a supposed cover-up," the report states.

Forsyth says investigators interviewed Ludwig, who could not recall Davis. They also found that in 1992, Nassar was not affiliated with the MSU Sports Medicine Clinic or USA Gymnastics. He was still a medical school student in the spring of 1992.
