LANSING, Mich. — As of midnight Thursday, Sparrow Hospital reported to have distributed or allocated 50,722 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is 99 percent of what they have received.

On Thursday alone, 1,685 vaccines were given out to those who qualify to get them.

65 percent of Sparrow caregivers have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 5,414 are fully vaccinated with both doses.

Sparrow schedules appointments based on the weekly vaccine supply they receive. The drive-thru laboratory service is located at 3131 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing.

Sparrow said they have been a national leader in COVID-19 patient care and testing, and was one of the first hospitals in Michigan to offer tests for patients.

As defined by the state of Michigan, those 65 and older and front-line essential healthcare workers are currently eligible for the vaccine. To get more information on how to receive a vaccine if you are part of the eligible group, visit the Sparrow website. Vaccines are by appointment only.
