Remembering a mid-Michigan broadcasting icon

LANSING, Mich. — A mid-Michigan broadcasting icon passed away over the week end at the age of 71.

Earle Robinson retired from WKAR radio six-years-ago and struggled with his health ever since.

Tim Staudt had some reflections on Robinson:

"Earle Robinson made his name on radio for 39 years at WKAR, the Michigan State University station. He hosted sports talk from 1-2 p.m. for a number of years and was a part of the Staudt on Sports show each Sunday morning on WILX-TV for six years. We always teased Earle about the wild suits he wore on the air. A Flint native we always told Earle there was nowhere in his hometown where they sell such colors and he always laughed and smiled as he did for so many people all through his life."
