LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - Following the “March For Our Lives” rally on the capitol steps in Lansing, a pro-gun rights rally was held.
Around 60 people gathered for the rally at 3 p.m. Saturday which was organized by the Michigan Liberty Militia.
Rally-goers were seen armed with assault rifles as speakers discussed the nation’s gun laws.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Evan Space was in attendance.
“I do believe a lot of people are concerned for our safety and for our well awareness as citizens that we need to be protected no matter what stance we take on the position,” said Space. “It is important for all of us to have our voice be heard and be able to move forward in the direction that is safest for our country and for our state itself."
The event ended at 6 p.m.
Several “March For Our Lives” rallies took place in cities across the United States Saturday to protest gun violence and advocate for common sense gun reform including Washington D.C., New York City, Miami, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, and Parkland, Florida.
