Police arraign suspect in Lansing Township stabbing

LANSING TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Antonio Ramon Lavoy was arraigned on the charge of open murder.

Lansing Township Police arrested Lavoy, 42, for the murder of Janice Gwen Dugger.

Lavoy stood mute and requested a court appointed attorney.

He remains jailed with no bond.

His next court date scheduled is for April 25, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.

Janice Gwen Dugger, 55, was stabbed in the neck in a room she rented at a house on the 200 block of Homer Street.

She was able to identify the suspect before she died.

Police found Lavoy hiding in a shed on Clippert Street a few blocks away from the murder scene.

Police say he was an acquaintance of Dugger.
