Polar vortex leaves at least 11 dead in Midwest, Eastern US

DETROIT, Mich. — This bone-chilling polar vortex has claimed the lives of at least 11 people across the Midwest and Eastern U.S.

Just Thursday, police in Iowa confirmed a University of Iowa student died from the cold. His body was found on campus in minus-51-degree wind chills.

In Michigan, a Detroit man was found dead in front of a neighbor's home and an Ecorse man was found dead outside his home.
