MSU offers up cows as therapy for stressed out students

Posted

Finals week is a stressful time for college students. But Michigan State University is offering them a unique way to unwind. It's called "Finals Stress, Mooove on out."

For $10, students can pet cows for 30 minutes at MSU's Dairy Cattle Teaching and Research Center. In the past, MSU has held similar events with dogs. This is the first time using cows.

Farm Manager Andrea Meade said, "The whole idea is kind of a new concept that's going through the animal world right now. People are really realizing more and more the benefits of how therapeutic animals are."

Any registered MSU student can come on out to pet the cows, from 5-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

MSU says it's considering expanding the event to the general public in the future.
