A total of $3 million in weatherization grants is up for grabs to assist qualified small businesses during the cold weather months.
The Small Business Association of Michigan is partnering with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity to help small business expanding their outdoor capacity.
Businesses may apply to receive between $1,000 – $10,000 to construct temporary structures such as canopies and igloos or purchase portable heaters to increase outdoor capacity for carryout and delivery services.
“There’s no question that these weatherization grants are going to make a real difference for Michigan’s small businesses this winter,” said SBAM president Brian Calley
The grants are provided through the federal CARES Act.
Interested businesses are invited to submit an application for weatherization grants.
Applications must be submitted beginning at noon on November 18, 2020. Grants will be awarded to eligible businesses on a first-come, first-served basis.
