On Wednesday, East Lansing's Planning Commission held a public hearing on an ordinance that would allow marijuana to be processed near a family community.
FOX 47's Marcus Dash spoke with a few residents of Hawk Nest community that are not particularly fond of this ordinance. Ryan Smith, a resident in the community told me that they think the Planning Commission wants to hurry up and pass it by December 15th.
He says East Lansing needs to do a better job of hearing people out, "I think it's important when you have a complicated issue like medical marijuana, that you are reaching out to all of the people that are impacted by the decisions."
Dash tried reaching out to people who were for the ordinance and they declined to comment.
