A man was sent to an area hospital Thursday morning after being shot on the cities south side.
Police say they got the call about the shooting in the 1000 block of Poxson Avenue around 2:20 a.m. Thursday.
When officers arrived, they found the 21-year-old victim with a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to the hospital where police say he is in critical condition.
Police do not believe this was a random shooting and there is no threat to the public.
