Lansing Police are making it clear a video being shared on social media of an officer assaulting a boy did not happen in Lansing, Michigan.

Citizens of Lansing, it has come to our attention that there is a video circulating in social media regarding an incident involving an off-duty police officer.
As a point of clarification, please note that this incident does not involve a Lansing (MICHIGAN) Police Officer. This incident occurred in Lansing, Illinois.
The video involving a Lansing, Illinois officer was taken on Saturday, June 24th. The Village of Lansing says that the incident is under investigation. They shared a press release on Facebook.
The video was shared on Facebook by Veronica Falls. It shows an off-duty officer holding down a young man, and cursing at him.
