A local distillery brought together a chemical company and two dairy farms to source products to make hand sanitizer before even opening their doors for spirits.
Wonderland Distilling Co. in Muskegon working with Webb Chemical, Country Dairy Farm and Fairlife Milk to produce the sanitizer, which is in high demand due to coronavirus.
“We definitely thought we’d be in full production and approaching sales of our first distilled spirit, a meticulously blended craft whiskey,” Allen Serio, chief marketing officer said in a statement. “However, we’ve been blessed with the equipment and a powerful business network, which has allowed us to help our community and our state during this time of need. We are thankful to be in West Michigan and have this amazing group of companies working with us."
They're using their products for materials and packaging. Webb Chemical is providing the raw material, Fairlife Milk is giving them barrels, and Country Dairy is providing the gallon containers to fill with sanitizer.
Wonderland says they're making the sanitizer following the specifications set in place by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Wonderland is providing gallons of hand sanitizer for local emergency health care organizations, along with other essential businesses like including DTE, Ford Motor Company, Pennsylvania Tool and 60 Family Farm & Home stores.

Locally, American Fifth Spirits and Michigrain Distillery both are also creating hand sanitizer to help meet the continued demand for this in healthcare and personally for local mid-Michigan residents..
