Homeless Angels benefits greatly from Dart Container Corporation

The Homeless Angels a Lansing based Christian ministry is the recipient of an amazing gift from the Dart Container Corporation, headquartered in Mason, MI. Dart Container Corporation who maintains a corporate housing portfolio, is reducing its inventory and in doing so awarded the Homeless Angels with the furnishings of six, two bedroom apartments.

“We are pleased to partner with the Homeless Angels in benefitting local families through the donation of this furniture,” said Jim Lammers, Dart President. “With the holidays arriving, we feel especially grateful to have the opportunity to give back to a community that has supported our business for nearly 60 years.”

The Homeless Angels staff upon getting the notification, felt as if they had just won the lottery. It could not have come at a more convenient time. With many clients moving into permanent housing, the furniture inventory was becoming sparse. Permanent housing is a celebratory milestone; it can also become challenging as it consists of four walls, a ceiling, floor and what little belongings they still possess, making the transition for many, stressful. Something that the Homeless Angels helps to remove from the equation by providing furnishings and household items to their residents when needed.Tracie Baise, Board Member for the Homeless Angels, was unable to hold back her emotions, tears of joy streamed down her face as she viewed the units with Kathy Sievert, Darts Travel and Relocation Assistant. “The generosity was overwhelming,” noted Baise. The gesture of kindness did not end here, Two Men and a Truck, also Lansing based, donated its moving services making what appeared to be a monumental task, a seamless event. "They were a lifesaver; two crews took a little over a day. I can't fathom how long it would have taken us," stated Baise.

The African proverb "It takes a village...” is a motto often used by the Homeless Angels. Once again a village came, and the Homeless Angels are humbly grateful.
