A shakeup in the coaching staff for Holt's baseball teams. The district's Varsity, JV and assistant volunteer baseball coaches are all on administrative leave. When the Rams take to the field today against Eaton Rapids, an interim coach will be at the helm.
The baseball coaches including Varsity Coach Nathan Potts, are under investigation over allegations about their behavior on a recent training trip to Florida.
Holt's superintendent Dave Hornak sent a letter to parents saying the district is conducting an internal investigation. He is asking parents and students to refrain from speculation while the district investigates. He says further details will be released to the community once the internal review is finished.
Hornak's statement also says: "Holt Public Schools has very high expectations for all coaching staff to exemplify the best standards of behavior and conduct at all times, on the playing field and while on school-sponsored trips. We commit to our learning community that our investigation will be prompt, fair and thorough. In the meantime, we appreciate your understanding as we continue to investigate."
