LANSING, Mich. — At least one dog and one cat were killed in a house fire in Lansing, fire officials said Monday morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene of the fire in the 600 block of South Pine Street around 12:38 a.m. on Monday, July 29.
Flames were visible on the second floor of the two-story home by the time firefighters arrived at the scene, officials said.
A dog rescued from the house was likely saved to newly donated pet oxygen masks the department received earlier this month, officials said.
Firefighters were able rescue a cat, but the whereabouts of two other cats are unknown.
No one was hurt in the fire took firefighters about 45 minutes to fully put out, officials said.
The house sustained heavy damage to the second floor.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
