DEWITT, Mich. — The past five days have been difficult for a family from DeWitt.
Last Wednesday, they found out their four-year-old son has a brain tumor.
"My wife took him to the emergency room on Wednesday and I was called to Sparrow Hospital to find out about the tumor," said the boy's father Brock Delaney.
Tuesday, Lucas Delaney will undergo surgery at the University of Michigan Mott Children's Hospital.
Family, friends and even strangers want Lucas to know they'll be thinking about him.
One way the DeWitt community is showing support for Delaney is to wear gray and pray.
Dave Schoonover and his wife Holli organized the effort and created an online form where people can sign up to pray for Lucas.
Residents are asked to wear a gray shirt, a color that represents brain tumors.
Lucas's father Brock teaches at DeWitt Middle School and is the high school boy's swim coach.
He says the swim team has been a great source of support.
"Wear Gray and Pray" stickers will be available Tuesday in DeWitt Public Schools, Biggby, the YMCA, and DeWitt Dental Associates.
