City of Jackson snow emergency until Wednesday

JACKSON, Mich. — The city of Jackson has declared a snow emergency Monday afternoon due to severe weather.

The snow emergency is in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The region is experiencing heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures.

Jackson residents are asked to remove their vehicles from city streets and not to park on the curb to allow for safe and effective snow removal.

Department of Public Works crews are plowing major roads and snow emergency roads before they move on to neighborhood streets.

Residents also are asked to clear sidewalks around their homes of snow and ice.
