LANSING, Mich. — The newest Cadillac being built at General Motor's Lansing Grand River plant is expected to make its global debut Thursday.

The new Cadillac CT4-V and Cadillac CT5-V are scheduled to debut in Detroit Thursday ahead of this weekend's Detroit Grand Prix race.

Cadillac has kept most details about the new cars a secret and has not released any photos yet, but during an interview with WKAR radio a Cadillac product manager said there will be distinctive design elements that go with the v-series compared to the CT-5 model unveiled last month at the New York International Auto Show.

Cadillac unveiled pictures of the CT5 on social media back in March.

That new sedan will be replacing the CT and AT sedans currently built at Grand River.

Before Thursday's debut Lansing Mayor Andy Schor released a statement and said he's thrilled the Grand River assembly plant will be building the new Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V.

The mayor said, "Lansing's time is now and General Motor's continued investment into our city is a big part of the momentum moving Lansing forward."

The investment Schor refers to is General Motor's decision to pump $211 million into Lansing's Grand River factory to build this next generation Cadillac sedan.

Pricing and gas mileage of the new V-series sedans are not available right now, but they're expected to hit showrooms early next year.
