SPRING ARBOR TWP., Mich. — Deputies are investigating how two lives were taken in a car accident on Thursday.
It happened at 4:02 p.m. on King Road at Sandstone in Spring Arbor Township, according to the Jackson County Sheriff Steve Rand.
They say that a 2008 Saturn was traveling southbound on Sandstone Road and entered the intersection of Sandstone and King.
In the intersection they say that the Saturn hit a westbound 2016 Cadillac ATS, which forced the rear of the Cadillac into the eastbound lane of King Road.
The Cadillac was then struck by an Ford Explorer going eastbound.
Two passengers in the backseat of the Cadillac were ejected from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Those individuals were an 84-year-old male and an 81-year-old female from Coldwater.
The 53-year-old female passenger in the front seat of the Cadillac, also from Coldwater, was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Health by Jackson Community Ambulance.
She is said to have severe injuries.
The driver, a 53-ear-old male from Coldwater, was all taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Deputies say that the driver of the Saturn was a 24-year-old female from Litchfield and was not injured.
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
