Elon Musk has donated over $400,000 to buy laptops for Flint middle school students.
Flint Community Schools announced the donation at its final board meeting on Wednesday.
Through the $423,600 donation from the Musk Foundation, the district will provide a Google Chromebook to all seventh and eighth grade students in the district.
“I’m glad the Musk Foundation has been helpful to the children of Flint in providing clean water and computers,” said Elon Musk. “We intend to do more in the future.”
The Musk Foundation previously donated $480,350 to replace all water filters in the district.
The Mott Foundation also provided a donation to the district, giving a $300,000 grant to modify its current middle school curriculum.
