3 m.o. found alive at home near party store

Police say they have found 3-month-old Dakota Grimes alive after she was inside a vehicle that was stolen outside of a party store on Detroit's east side around 1 a.m.

Police say the child's father pulled up to the store in the 16600 block of Harper and went inside, leaving his car still running and the doors unlocked.

When the father returned, his white 2006 Chevy Impala was gone and there was no sign of his baby.

There was an Amber Alert issued for Dakota earlier this morning.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a 3-month-old girl who was inside a vehicle when it was stolen outside of a party store on Detroit's east side around 1 a.m.

The baby's name is Dakota Grimes. She was last seen wearing a pink onesie and a coat.

Police say the child's father pulled up to the store in the 16600 block of Harper and went inside, leaving his car still running and the doors unlocked.

When the father returned, his white 2006 Chevy Impala was gone and there was no sign of his baby. 

The license plate is CPG8598. The Amber Alert notice states the driver's side rear bumper has damage and the trunk won't close completely. The driver's side rear taillight is also broken with red tape covering it.
