A pickup truck that was abandoned on US 127 near Liberty Road in Jackson County was reported stolen out of Missouri.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle at the side of the road on southbound US 127 in Liberty Twp., around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Undersheriff Christopher Kuhl said the truck had Missouri license plates, and was there for a couple days. When the sheriff’s office ran the plates, it came up as being reported as stolen out of Missouri.
Kuhl said there is nothing suspicious regarding the vehicle, and they do not know when it was reported stolen to police in Missouri.
The vehicle was impounded and the sheriff’s office is waiting to hear from Missouri law enforcement officers on how to proceed.
