A 17-year-old girl who lost control of her Beetle and struck an SUV head-on Tuesday, has died, Jackson County Office of the Sheriff says.
The crash happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday, on Baseline Road near McCreery Road in Henrietta Township.
The girl, Bailey Marie Gier, from Jackson, was driving her VW Beetle Westbound on Baseline Road when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a Cadillac Escalade head-on. She was transported to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in critical condition from the scene of the collision.
Gier succumbed to her injuries at Henry Ford Allegiance Health, Wednesday.
The occupants in the Escalade sustained minor injuries, and deputies do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
