Residents of a Lansing apartment complex sounded off to members of the Lansing City Council on Tuesday night at a special meeting.

People living there say it's rundown, there's a history of crime and people don't feel safe anymore.

Residents say they need protection at night, not just the office who's there during the day.

In addition to more security at the building's nine entrances, council member Adam Hussain says it's still a work in progress.

"Although we've seen some improvement, there's a ways to go," said Hussain. "And we want to make sure we never ever get back to this place again."

Hussain says the committee will continue to hold these meetings until the people who live in the complex feel safe again.
