Donald Trump's speech at the Cobo Center in Detroit on Monday was repeatedly interrupted by protesters.
More than 14 people were removed during the event.
A group called "Michigan People's Campaign" says it planned the disruptions to raise awareness of economic and racial injustice.
"I stood up on my chair in the middle of his speech," said Sarah Messer, who was kicked out of Trump's speech. "I asked him why he is victim blaming, why women should take responsibility for their bosses sexually harassing them."
Messer joined nearly 200 protesters who lined the sidewalk of Washington Boulevard.
The crowd was mainly made up of labor groups who were trying to form their own wall in front of the Cobo Center.
"This is a wall of peace, this is wall of unity and this is a wall of justice," one protestor shouted.
But some protestors got heated when a few Trump supporters showed up. No violence broke out, but there was a moment of tension when protestors started arguing with a man waving a Confederate flag. Police detained the man, but eventually let him go.
"Everyone has a right to protest as you do," a Detroit Police Captain told the crowd. "You will not antagonize anyone that doesn't have the same views as you have."
