Every morning when my alarm goes off, the snooze button calls to me. Despite my best intentions, it’s way too easy to hit it again — and again — in order to prolong my slumber as much as possible. If you have the same problem, this alarm clock that forces you to chase it around the room in order to turn it off may just be the gadget you need to get you up and out of bed in the morning.

The Clocky Wheels Alarm Clock, which speeds off on wheels when it goes off, is available on Amazon for $39.99. If you want the noise to stop, you have no choice but to untangle yourself from your sheets and get out of your cozy bed to track it down. It can even safely jump off of nightstands up to 3 feet high! Clocky runs on four AAA batteries.

Besides its ability to elude your grasp like a toddler on the run, the Clocky is also super-loud. According to the product description, he sounds like R2D2, the squeaky robot from “Star Wars.” Because Clocky is next to impossible to ignore, the description suggests it’s great for kids, teens and adults alike and would make “the perfect gift for the college student dorm, graduation and back-to-school” (though we’d imagine one’s college roommate wouldn’t be too thrilled). Clocky does have a snooze feature, but you can choose to disable it.

What a great idea!

Another similar device is the Ruggie, which forces you to step on a rug to turn off the alarm. And once your feet are on the ground, you might as well get out of bed, right? It needs three seconds of pressure but, to be honest, I can see myself swinging my feet out to stop it and swinging them right back in for a bit more shuteye. Still, if you think it might work for you, it’s available on Amazon for $74.99.
