SWISStrong 9/20/17: The Pink Party

and last updated

Community members and businesses will help celebrate life and save lives from breast cancer at the First Ever Pink Party. After losing her friend to breast cancer, Joni Sztykiel was left feeling compelled to do something for future women who may be diagnosed. Last fall, Lansing didn’t have an event where you could dress up to feel great, eat a delicious meal and have a wonderful time while supporting a meaningful, important cause. The co-owner of the Urban Beat Event Center shared her idea with her husband, John Sztykiel. The two took this idea to the American Cancer Society, and The Pink Party was born.

The 2017 Pink Party, will be held in Lansing's Urban Beat Event Center on September 29, starting at 6:00 p.m. Guests will walk the pink carpet and pause so Rebecca Houlihan Photography can capture the moment., enjoy a gently used designer purse silent auction that’s followed by a formal dinner from Soup Spoon and live auction. Formal dress or cocktail attire with a touch of pink added at the party! Tickets are $100 and are limited. Proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society which will then be used in a variety of ways to benefit local women battling breast cancer.

This innovative event will raise funds for the American Cancer Society and help free the world from the pain and suffering of breast cancer. It is estimated that 8,160 women in Michigan will be diagnosed with breast cancer and over half will reach out to the American Cancer Society.
