Experts say it's possible to prevent depression in expectant mothers and those who've recently given birth.

A report focuses on women who may be at higher risk for developing depression but have never been diagnosed.

That includes single parents as well as younger moms and those with a history of the condition.

Experts say teaching these women how to handle negative thoughts and improve their relationships with other people can help thwart the symptoms of depression.
