American children eat too much salt, according to a new government study that assessed the diets of more than 2,000 six to 18-year-olds.
They averaged about 3,200 milligrams of sodium each day, far more than the recommended limit of 1,900 to 2,300 milligrams.
About half of the children's sodium intake came from just 10 foods - including breads, cold cuts, soups, snacks and pizza.
