People without celiac disease should not avoid gluten, according to the results of a new study.

Many people without have adopted a gluten free diet as a way to improve their heart health. But a study of over 100,000 adults found that eliminating gluten did not lower their long term risk of heart disease.

In fact, gluten-free diets reduced their consumption of whole grains which are good for the heart.
