Sparrow Vice President Stella Cash has been awarded the East Lansing Zonta Club’s prestigious Woman of Achievement award.

The award celebrates women who provide outstanding contributions and involvement in community affairs and Zonta. Cash, Sparrow’s Vice President of Development and Strategic Partnerships, is a longtime member of the organization.

Cash has had a storied career as a businesswoman, a leader at Michigan State University, and at Sparrow.

She was given the 2012 ATHENA Award by the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, served as Associate Vice President and interim Executive Director of the MSU Alumni Association, developed MSU’s Dietetics program into the largest in the nation, and has spearheaded partnerships and fundraising at Sparrow.

"Stella Cash is well-known, respected, and admired throughout our region, state, and nation," said Zonta Club charter member MaryLee Davis, retired distinguished MSU professor and administrator. "In fact, few individuals have achieved the level of distinction, leadership, and meritorious accomplishments in as many different professional fields as this multi-talented individual."

Cash defines the key to her success – at Sparrow and in her other pursuits – as her interest in, and connections to, people.

"I’m very passionate about this community, and very fortunate to be connected to Sparrow," she said.

Zonta Club is an international organization that empowers women worldwide through service and advocacy.
