The Sparrow Women’s Board of Managers and the Sparrow Volunteer Services Department have named Angel Campbell of Lansing the November Volunteer of the Month. Campbell has been volunteering in Pediatrics for over 3 years. She says she loves hanging around with the children, playing with them and keeping their play area clean. The children are going through illnesses of varying severity and Campbell likes to keep them busy so not to focus on their illness. She is said to have wonderful organization and cleaning skills keeping the playroom clean and staged. She is willing to take on any task. She is flexible and reliable and gets right down on the children’s level to talk with them.
Angel is said to add so much to the volunteer group, being faithful, helpful, flexible and hard-working. Plus, she always has a smile.
Angel is a native of Lansing with parents, James and Katrina and two older sisters, Brianna and Amber. She is a senior at Eastern High School and is on the volleyball team and is said to be an excellent student.
Her favorite place to visit is Disneyworld and hopes to go there to celebrate her upcoming graduation from high school by going there again. After high school, Angel hopes to attend the University of Michigan’s nursing school.
Angel was introduced to Sparrow by her sisters and a friend, all volunteers at Sparrow. The whole family is service oriented.
