Three of Sparrow’s hospitals and the Sparrow Medical Group physician practice in St. Johns have received 2017 Governor’s Awards of Excellence for outstanding quality and Patient safety.
Sparrow Carson Hospital, Sparrow Clinton Hospital, Sparrow Ionia Hospital and Sparrow Medical Group St. Johns were among more than 100 Michigan hospitals, physician practices, nursing homes, and other facilities honored by the nonprofit MPRO Wednesday at Eagle Eye Golf Course in Bath Township.
The award was first developed in 2003 by MPRO, a national leader in healthcare quality improvement and medical review.
Sparrow Carson was recognized for outpatient quality among acute care hospitals; Sparrow Clinton and Sparrow Ionia for quality among critical access hospitals/ambulatory surgery centers and inpatient psychiatric facilities; and SMG St. Johns for quality adult immunizations.
SMG St. Johns, 901 S. Oakland in St. Johns, provides family practice, internal medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology and general surgery services.
