A research team is trying to figure out if doctors can treat pneumonia in kids with fewer antibiotics.
Up to 400 children will be enrolled with community-acquired pneumonia.
The team will determine if they can beat the infection with five days of antibiotics, rather than the ten standard days.
Resistance to antibiotics has become a problem and using the lowest dosage could help the effectiveness of the antibiotics.
The project is being sponsored by the national institute of allergy and infectious diseases.
