Report: Americans over age 55 are generally happier

Posted

Getting older may mean being happier. A new Gallup-Healthways report finds Americans over the age of 55 are thriving more than their younger counterparts.

Seniors were more likely to be financially secure, be satisfied with their standard of living, and worry less about money.

Older people were also more likely to eat a healthy diet, smoke less and have less stress in their lives.

Hawaii ranked as the number one well-being state for older Americans. West Virginia ranked last.
